The Year

I will worship You
through the year.
My Lord I know You will hear,
the prayers of Your children dear
and guide them to safely,
and bring them near.

Christmas Miracle

That a baby could become a king,
has happened often in history.
But the true wonder and miracle,
is for a King to become a baby!

No Thunder Or Plop

There is no sound in the fall,
no thunder or plop,
no evidence of damage,
except a teardrop.
A soul in sin,
resulting from doing,
feels helpless and broke,
and lay in ruin.
But God will forgive,
restore and renew,
and fill you with love,
with the pure and true.

Conquering The Giant

One's problem may seem giant,
when seen through fears eyes.
But Faith in God reduces,
the giant into a small size.

Call to Him for help,
against the giants in your life,
and He will help you conquer,
and put an end to strife.

Autonomy Of Help

One desires
to live a life,
that is free.
But life in Christ,
makes one understand,
one must not separate,
from helping man.

Not A Joke

Many laugh,
and even joke,
about the words,
that Jesus spoke.
But blessed are those,
with ears to hear,
for them the gift
of life draws near.

You Can Not Cheat

One can not cheat,
the truth of life,
no devious ways,
fulfill the right.
The Words of life,
one should heed,
for God's not mocked,
or deceived.

Still Small Voice

Not in the wind,
or in the thunder,
will you hear the voice,
above all wonder.
Not in the sound,
of a raging river,
God's still small voice,
appears as a whisper.

Through The Shadow

If I walk,
through the shadow of death,
I am at peace,
the Lord gives me rest.
I don't need to fear,
nor need to see,
God protects,
and comforts me.

Faithful Vision

The view is clouded,
the path is hidden,
yet in the Lord,
I have a vision.
I trust in Him,
to guide me,
to greater ways,
I not yet see.

Not Pensive

I shall not fear,
or act pensive.
When I know God's grace,
is quite extensive.
His hand guides and guards,
He cares for me,
My faith in him,
makes doubt flee.

Blank Heart

Like an unwritten page,
that's left blank.
So is a life,
lived without thanks.
There's an empty space,
that fills in part,
but never grows,
into a full heart.

The Right Fight

Life can seem
and endless fight,
between desires
of dark and light.
God keeps His children
in His sight.
To gaurd and lead,
in all that's right.

Taking Stalk

Growth in life,
compares to grain,
hidden in time,
passing through rain.
First shoot, then stalk,
a field of wheat,
pressing forth,
until complete.

Growing From Childhood

As one grows older,
then they should,
put aside,
games of childhood.
Lessons have been learned,
now to proceed,
to be all God,
wants you to be.

Fear Not

Be strong,
and courageous,
God has told us,
through the ages.
For there 's no reason,
for one to fear,
when you know,
the Lord is near.

He's Colored My Life

The Lord has given,
the world great light,
and given hues,
to black and white.
He's taken darkness,
from my soul,
and made my life,

Precious Price

The precious blood,
that was shed,
was to redeem,
in our stead.
A price so great,
we could not pay,
but Christ's sacrifice,
opened the way.

As A Green Shoot

Like a plant shoot,
new and green,
one is renewed,
and washed clean,
it's as if the past,
has never been,
when one comes to Christ,
and is born again.

In The Footsteps

Follow in the footsteps,
of the Lord who leads the path,
He shows the life of love,
in which one finds no wrath.
Behind the world is foolish,
ahead a life of peace,
shedding empty burdens,
and having joy increase.

A Timely Word

A good word is timely,
and pleasant to the soul.
It binds spiritual wounds,
and begins to make one whole.

Ecclesiastes 5:4 (paraphrased and rhymed)

When to God,
you vow a vow,,
delay not,
from paying now,
or complete,
in careless leisure,
for a fool,
gives God,
no pleasure.

He Is More

God has saved my soul,
from disaster.
He is so much more,
than Lord and master.

He desires all to have,
a blessed end,
and makes Himself known,
as a friend.

The Great Oversight

The tragedy of
a lived life,
that contains a great
By accumulating
all one can afford
yet not having

A Marathon

We run the race
and carry on.
Not a sprint
but a marathon.
We try our best
for time to tell.
That in the end
we finish well.

Never Stylish

The current and the stylish,
will all fade away.
But the Word of God's forever.
One must follow it and pray.
The reward is life eternal,
with joy and peace within.
This day for those without,
is a good one to begin.

Not Misplaced

So much trust,
is misplaced,
in things that fail,
and end in disgrace.
But there is one,
where faith's not flawed,
no disappointment when,
one trusts in God.

Never Routine

Lord it's so easy to thank You,
when things are going well,
or to humbly call upon You,
when I pass the gates of Hell.
May I never forget,
to send thanks and praise Your way,
as I live in the common,
average day to day.

August 28, 2017

If I neglect,
to stop and pray,
and speak with God,
at the start of day,
and listen to what,
He has to say,
I feel unsafe,
unsure of the way.

August 27, 2017

All Your Trust

Give the Lord,
all of your trust,
with all your heart,
this you must.
For when you do,
just watch and wait,
and He will set
your paths straight.

I Was The Worst (based on Timothy 13-17)

I was a blasphemer and persecutor,
and insolent opponent,
yet I received mercy and grace,
though I didn't deserve it.
Jesus came into the world,
to save those with sin's curse.
Among the many sinful,
I confess I am the worst.
Yet Christ forgives with perfect patience,
and redeemed me from my treason,
I worship and praise my God,
who has granted me freedom.

Bedtime Prayers

A child will say,
their bedtime prayers,
and speak to God,
of all their cares.
Yet adults can learn,
at this scene so mild,
how to please God with,
the faith of a child.

Windows To The Soul

Eyes are the windows
that open to the soul.
They give insight into brokenness,
or display if one is whole.
It is best to dwell one’s eyes,
upon that which is right.
Then darkness will be lessened,
and the eyes will show forth light.

To Giggle To Laugh

To smile,
to giggle,
or to laugh,
makes a happy life,
that moves so fast.
A heart is full,
and speaks
glad words,
if it possesses,
the joy of the Lord.

A Good Read

You can read the newspaper,
but it may not be the truth.
You can't rely on the tales,
that were told as a youth.
There is a reliable source,
you may of read or have heard.
The font of truth,
is to be found in God's Word.

Overwhelming Peace

The trials of life
can seem overwhelming.
More than one can stand.

Yet there is peace
if one trusts
their life in God’s hand.

Clouds Of Witnesses

Great clouds of witnesses,
observe us living life.
They know of our struggle,
to do what is right.
When the battles are all over,
and we're released from all harm,
they will be there to greet us,
with love and open arms.

The Great Feast

Counted among
the very least,
God invited me
to His feast.
For few rich and great,
shall cross His door,
He's reserved His best,
for the weak and poor.

I Shall Stand

I shall stand,
though all alone,
with friends not near,
nor sight of home.

Yet I shall not fear,
and yet survive,
because my God,
stands by my side.

August 17, 2017

No Record

No remembrance or record,
of wrongs we have done.

We are washed and forgiven,
in the love of God’s Son.
