Stroll Through The Dark

I may run or I may stroll,

in this journey of my soul.

As I engage in mysteries,

I know God is here with me.

Humble Lesson

I confess and have contrition. 
I’ve not been, in submission.

I’ve tried to do things with my own hands. 
By my strength I’ve worked to stand.

Thus I earned what I could not afford. 
Better to wait on the Lord.

Who planned success before I began.
Who sought to raise a humble man.

Opening The Blind

My eyes have been opened.

Now I have seen.

Things aren’t the way,

that I thought they have been.

I don’t know if I,

should laugh or cry.

Since I discovered what I,

thought I knew was a lie.

The Prayer of the Optina Elders

Grant unto me, O Lord, that with peace of mind I may face all that this new day is to bring.

Grant unto me to dedicate myself completely to Thy Holy Will.

For every hour of this day, instruct and support me in all things.

Whatsoever tidings I may receive during the day, do Thou teach me to accept tranquilly, in the firm conviction that all eventualities fulfill Thy Holy Will.

Govern Thou my thoughts and feelings in all I do and say.

When things unforeseen occur , let me not forget that all cometh down from Thee.

Teach me to behave sincerely and rationally toward every member of my family, that I may bring confusion and sorrow to none.

Bestow upon me, my Lord, strength to endure the fatigue of the day, and to bear my part in all its passing events.

Guide Thou my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to suffer, to forgive, and to love.

The Unfurious Sound

The sound of the world

is as falling brass,

the continuous noise,

of breaking glass.

The sound of the Spirit,

is like a gentle wind,

a whisper of love,

that one hears within.

Not By My Grit

With grit and determination, 

I struggled for salvation. 

Failure drove me to quit. 

But Jesus obtained it.
