Beautiful Aesthetic - (a poem by tom balistreri)

God moves the world
from the pathetic,
into the beauty
of the aesthetic.

Through Him all is imbued,
and renewed.

The Mythical Myth - (a poem by tom balistreri)

To the critic and the cynical
God seems only mythical.
A fact they dismiss
as only a myth.

Yet through the heart in clarity,
one see no disparity.
In faith all things proclaim
the glory in His name.

Tender Care - (a poem by tom balistreri)

The Lord guides us
with tender care.
Always loving,
always there.

Watching us
in every stride,
guarding us,
and at our side.

Not Frail - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Although I appear,
weak and frail,
with faith in God,
I shall not fail.

He renews my soul,
and strengthens me,
and make me more,
than one might see.

Sailing The Course - (a poem by tom balistreri)

As a ship
without a sail,
or rudderless,
one would fail,

to progress or steer
a straight course,
without the Lord,
as your source.

Through A Glass Darkly - (a poem by tom balistreri)

For now we see,
as through a darkened glass.
We behold things unclear,
until this life does pass.

In God's kingdom we will see,
and then we'll understand,
how all things worked for good,
according to His plan.

Who Needs Poetry? - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Who has time for poetry?
When wars rage on
toward destiny.

No time to pause,
for subtlety.
Or clever words,
in melody.

Why slow and think,
of gentle things?
When there are conquerings and rising kings.

The leaf,
a bird,
issues of the heart.
They slow the rage,
and take apart,

the desires,
the lusts,
the wanting more,
of material things,
to own and store.

Who needs reminding,
they are a soul.
A spirit that love
can control.

Who needs to think in poetry?
Only those,
like you and me.

Always Urgent - (a poem by tom balistreri)

It may not seem urgent,
to live in God's light.
One thinks there is time,
to turn towards the right.

But one never knows,
as they plan their desires,
that this very day,
their soul may be required.

Where Your Treasure Is - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Where your treasure is,
there will be your heart.

Best to keep you wealth in heaven,
to await you when you part.

The Ancient And New - (a poem by tom balistreri)

He is ancient and eternal,
always was and ever new.
Through Him all is created.
All in His Word is true.

He bestows grace and love,
and guides everything.
For He is God almighty,
the Lord and King.

Fall To Folly - (a poem by tom balistreri)

To succumb to temptation
and run to folly,
can leave a soul
with melancholy.

Yet joy can revive,
and hope can live,
for we have God,
who is quick to forgive.

Gather Together - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Let us not forsake,
are gathering together.

For as iron sharpens iron,
we are stronger and can weather,

the trials and challenge,
that believers may face.

Yet we hope in Christ,
and stand in our faith.

A Tourist Passing Through - (a poem by tom balistreri)

I pass through this world,
as if a tourist.
Knowing this is not,
where I will find rest.

My peace shall be,
in the age to come,
with God and King,
in His Son.

To Elicit Response - (a poem by tom balistreri)

To elicit response
the Lord will call
not with thunder
to shake all.

Not with lighting
or a whirlwind.
But with a still small voice,
one hears within.

I Seem To Float - (a poem by tom balistreri)

My spirit soars,
it seems to float,
in times with You
that I devote.

You bring me peace,
from life's test.
I enter in,
to God's rest.

Renewal - (a poem by tom balistreri)

The Lord forgives sins,
and grants souls renewal.
Relief of ones burdens,
and torments cruel.

Freedom is granted
to start again.
Without memory
of inequity's stain.

The Borrowed- (a poem by tom balistreri)

Material things
in life aren’t mine.
All is borrowed,
even time.

Only love
can one possess.
And give to all,
for happiness.

Acceptance Accepted - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Many seek acceptance,
from people in the world.
Yet they find none.
Their hope is unfurled.

Yet God accepts all
whether near or far,
for His love extends to them,
just the way they are.

Display Of Millions - (a poem by tom balistreri)

More than millions,
are the stars in the heavens.
The wonders of creation,
astonish and beckon.

They display God's hand,
who reigns thereof,
and calls all to salvation,
with tenderness and love.

The Tiny Wealth - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Do not despise the tiny,
or the things that may seem small.
For although size is lacking,
it may be greater than it all.

One needs only look at pharisees,
who give from their wealth in all's sight,
yet they gave not as much,
as the widow's mite.

Easy To Remember

I liked this song from the first time I heard it.
I seem to prefer music from another era.
 I'm either very un-hip, or so un-hip..I'm hip. :)
Anyway I sing here for you the song,
 "Easy To Remember."
Thank you for listening.

Even In The Desert - (a poem by tom balistreri)

In the midst of the desert,
God provides a flowing stream.
Surround by darkness,
He shines His light beam.

His love and His care.

The Luxury Of The Poor - (a poem by tom balistreri)

The rich man lives in luxury,
all needs met in this life.
The poor man depends on God,
to lead him through the strife.

The end for each is similar,
both arrive at the grave.
But it was easier for the poor,
to find he was saved.

The choice is set before you.
The path of life or death.

give breath?

God has show the way,
but will not force you
to make the choice.
Will you follow the wide path?
Or the be wise and rejoice.

No Matter The Dilemma - (a poem by tom balistreri)

No matter the dilemma,
despite the situation,
there is no great problem,
or helpless complication,

that God can not redeem,
and make wrong turn into right,
if one turns to Him for answers,
salvation is His delight.

with protest,
and fails to enter

within Your plan.

Not Unfinished - (a poem by tom balistreri)

Nothing was left unfinished,
with Christ's death upon the cross.
His sacrifice restored,
all that men had lost.

The power of death was defeated,
not just diminished.
Christ Himself stated on the cross,
"It is finished!"

The Page Is Written - (a poem by tom balistreri)

The page is written,
the ink is dry,
you can not change,
the times gone by.

The paths ahead,
the undiscovered plan,
success to be,
in God's hands.

He is more,
than just a guide,
He will walk,
by your side.

If you should fall,
He will help you stand,
and lead you to,
that promised land.
