The Seeker - (By Tom Balistreri)

I seek your glory.
I seek your face.
Remove me from
this worldly place.

Into your presence,
where troubles cease,
and love abides
with perfect peace.

No Second Thoughts - (By Tom Balistreri)

One needs to follow,
without second thoughts.
To seek the Lord,
as one ought.

He is the way ,
the truth and life.
He will lead,
you in His light.

Do not be,
of double mind,
but leave the foolish,
ways behind.

There's A Kind Of Hush

As the world tries to be still,
I thought this would be a song that would fit.
This is just me and my guitar as I sing,
"There's A Kind Of Hush."
Thank you for listening.

Every Fault And Mistake - (By Tom Balistreri)

Every fault and mistake,
every sin You will take.

and cleanse my wounds,
with gentleness.

Please Realize - ( by Tom Balistreri)

Open your heart,
and realize,
that time and life,
is passing by.

Do the activities,
in which you spend,
matter to your soul,
in the end?

Seek God
in all of your ways,
and you'll have peace,
at the end of days.

Even In The Desert - ( by Tom Balistreri)

In the midst of the desert,
God provides a flowing stream.
Surrounded by darkness,
He shines His light beam.

He forgets not His children,
God is always there,
to give His protection,
His love and His care.

Nothing When Apart (based on John 15:5)

You are the branches,
I am the vine.
You must abide in Me,
and we will be entwined.
The result will be,
much fruit you will bear.
For apart from Me,
there will be nothing there.

Not Whitewash Paint - (By Tom Balistreri)

Not a disguised tomb,
with whitewash paint,
but a renewed soul
of a saint.

Life in Christ,
makes the spirit new,
and the grace of God,
in a man shines through.

The Stubborn Soul - (by Tom Balistreri)

The stubborn soul,
full of pride,
lives for itself,
with naught denied.

A Godly spirit,
freely gives,
and in the giving,
eternally lives.

No Longer Adrift - (By Tom Balistreri)

Adrift upon a stormy sea.
This was all life was to me.
Then rescued by God
I was free.

Stream Of Dreams - (by Tom Balistreri)

Like a shadow,
as if a dream,
life passes,
in time's stream.

We flow towards,
a world above,
and leave behind,
imprints of love.

I've Still Got It (An essay by Tom Balistreri)

Today as I was reading many blog posts from various writers a thought occurred to me,
“I still got it.”
Got what? you may ask.
Child like wonder.
Or maybe it’s better called a positive attitude, or optimism, or hope.
I don’t know if any of those words describe what it is that I have.
I just know I’ve got it.
I can remember being a child.
I can recall my feelings and views towards the world that I had then.
I can relive them like it was yesterday.
I mentally can put myself back there and think like I did then.
Age has brought me experience.
It can bring a bit of callousness upon a person.
Maybe as a form of self protection.
But children see the world as very clear cut.
There are bad guys and good guys.
Right and wrong.
Cool and yucky.
I think kids are more realistic than adults.
The grown ups seems to be full of cynicism.
The media is all put downs, and gotchas.
Bad news makes good news.
If the other person has a different point of view, then it must be based on an evil ulterior motive.
Maybe I’m naive.
I try to remember to look at things through the eyes of a naive child.
Not always, but not enough.
I like a good joke. I like insult humor.
But I don’t like hurting anyone. Even if meant in good humor.
So I use the insults on myself.
It’s an excuse to have some humor at no ones expense but my own.
There is still kindness in the world.
I try to be part of it.
I know there are many who also are the positive souls on this planet.
Perhaps the reason the world is still here is because there are more of them than we realize.
They are just not as loud.
It is written:
“..Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 19:14
Perhaps that’s the secret.
To try to remember how to see things through the eyes and faith of a child.
I may not be perfect,
but I’d like to think,
I still got it

A Wise Prayer - (by Tom Balistreri)

It seems to apply in any time you live in.
So here is my song called,
"I Do."
Thank you for listening.

The Cost is Minimal - (By Tom Balistreri)

The cost is minimal.
A very small price.
You lose the bonds of death,
and gain eternal life.

Narrow Road

I’ve traveled for so long upon this path.
Sometimes the way is hard and not too fast.
But I know where it goes.
It’s taking me home.
That is why I’m on the narrow road.
There’s been times were I have lost my way.
And moments where I have chose to stray.
I turned around and found my way back again.
I’m heading back to where I’ll be welcomed in.
That is why I’m on the narrow road.
There’s a road road that’s wide, broad and bright.
Those who travel on it think it feels alright.
But it’s leading to a place they don’t want to go.
It’s that path of least resistance. It’s an easier way.
There’s a toll at they end that they can not pay.
When the journey’s over it’s not what you have but who you know.
I’m not saying you must follow me.
We all have are own paths and destinies.
The Spirit of the Lord calls to show you the way.
To endless treasure if you hear what He says.
And follow Him upon the narrow road

but truth is disguised.

Precious Price - (By Tom Balistreri)

The precious blood,
that was shed,
was to redeem,
in our stead.

A price so great,
we could not pay,
but Christ's sacrifice,
opened the way.

Turn From The False - (by Tom Balistreri)

In a world that's fallen,
with many faults,
many turn to ways,
that are false.

But I've learned Your precepts,
that I've heard since youth,
for You are God,
and Your Word is truth.

Unstoppable Will - (By Tom Balistreri)

The will of God's unstoppable.
What is written shall come to pass.
He knows the end from the beginning.
The future from the past.

Remember in the turmoil,
the times that try men's soul.
God is never unaware,
and He is in control.

Not Unfinished - (by Tom Balistreri)

Nothing was left unfinished,
with Christ's death upon the cross.
His sacrifice restored,
all that men had lost.

The power of death was defeated,
not just diminished.
Christ Himself stated on the cross,
"It is finished!"
